It can be measured manually for a single time or automatically and continuously.

The equipment can be widely used in cloud observation and research, aviation and navigation meteorological support, military meteorological support, and human shadow rocket rainfall enhancement operations.
3. How Cloud Height Ceilometers Works
The device is based on the principle of laser ranging. The laser transmitter emits periodic laser pulses into the atmosphere, the laser receiver receives the backscattered signals from the cloud layer and the atmosphere, and the processor collects and processes the received signals. After inversion calculation, the extinction coefficient of the atmosphere at each altitude is obtained, thereby judging the cloud layer and calculating the cloud base height value.
4. Cloud Height Ceilometers Features
The device can be used vertically or tilted to measure the height of cloud base or the distance of solid targets. It is small in size and light in weight, not limited by the space conditions of the station, and can be used flexibly. The device has a built-in lithium battery, and the observation data can be displayed on the LCD screen in real time and stored inside the device, which is convenient for future reading and data analysis. The ergonomic design allows for temporary handheld observation or long-term continuous observation when installed on a tripod.
