An open - pit coal mining enterprise generates a large amount of dust during the mining process, which not only pollutes the surrounding environment but also affects the physical health of the miners in the mining area.
For this reason, the enterprise has deployed Dust Monitoring Equipment. Combined with the actual situation of the mining area, high - precision monitoring stations have been installed in the mining area, ore loading and unloading area, transportation roads and other locations. For particulate matter monitoring, first, the laser scattering method is used. The laser light source emits a laser beam to irradiate the dust particulate matter, and the optical sensor receives the scattered light. By measuring information such as its intensity and angle, the particulate matter concentration is calculated according to algorithms and models. Second, the β - ray absorption method is used. Electrons are emitted from a specific emission source. The air passes through a cutter and a sampling tube, and the particulate matter remains on the filter membrane. By measuring the attenuation amount of the β - ray passing through the filter membrane, the mass of the particulate matter is calculated, and then the concentration is obtained. Meteorological parameter monitoring relies on wind speed and direction sensors, temperature and humidity sensors, etc. The wind speed, wind direction, temperature, humidity, air pressure, etc. are measured by using the force of the wind on the sensing components and the change of physical properties with temperature and humidity.
The system can obtain dust data in real - time and is linked with the automated sprinkler system, vehicle transportation scheduling system, etc. in the mining area.
When the monitored dust concentration exceeds the standard, the automated sprinkler system will be started immediately to spray and suppress dust in the corresponding area. At the same time, the vehicle transportation scheduling system will reasonably adjust the vehicle transportation route according to the wind direction and dust concentration to reduce the spread of dust.
