The FT-WQX8 Outdoor Weather Sensor is a highly integrated micro-meteorological instrument designed for monitoring in the fields of environment, environmental protection, and smart cities. It integrates eight standard meteorological parameters – wind speed, wind direction, temperature, humidity, air pressure, PM2.5, PM10, and noise – into a compact structure, enabling 24-hour uninterrupted online monitoring of outdoor meteorological parameters. Data is output all at once through a digital communication interface, enhancing the convenience and comprehensiveness of data collection.

For wind speed and direction monitoring, it adopts a top-cover hidden ultrasonic probe, which avoids interference from rain and snow accumulation and prevents blocking by natural wind. By emitting continuous frequency-modulated ultrasonic signals and measuring relative phases, it accurately detects wind speed and direction. The wind speed measurement range is 0-60m/s with an accuracy of ±0.1m/s, and the wind direction measurement range is 0-360° with an accuracy of ±2°. The monitoring of temperature, humidity, and air pressure is equally precise: the air temperature measurement range is -40-80℃ with an accuracy of ±0.3℃; the air humidity range is 0-100% RH with an accuracy of ±3% RH; and the atmospheric pressure range is 300-1100hPa with an accuracy of ±0.02hPa. These data are quite important in urban street lamp systems. When the wind speed is too high, the street lamp management system can automatically adjust the lighting brightness of street lamps or turn off some street lamps on non-critical road sections according to the sensor data to prevent damage to street lamps caused by strong winds. Based on temperature and humidity data, it can predict extreme weather and take protective measures for street lamp equipment in advance.

The FT-WQX8 can monitor PM2.5 and PM10 concentrations in real time, with a range of 0-1000ug/m³ and an accuracy of ±10%. Once the air quality deteriorates, it can link with the intelligent street lamp control system to change the color of street lamp light, issue warnings to citizens, and provide data support for environmental protection departments. It can monitor noise in the range of 30-120dB with an accuracy of ±1.5dB, helping urban managers understand noise conditions in different areas. When the noise exceeds the standard, street lamps can remind nearby residents or relevant departments by means of flashing lights, etc.

This sensor has strong anti-interference capability, equipped with a watchdog circuit and automatic reset function to ensure stable operation of the system. The ASA engineering plastic shell will not fade even after long-term outdoor use, is resistant to harsh weather, and can work around the clock. In addition, the product is designed with a standard RS485 communication interface (MODBUS protocol) for signal output, and can also be optionally equipped with 232, USB, Ethernet interfaces or wireless transmission modules, supporting real-time data reading and transmission, which facilitates access to the urban street lamp intelligent management network.
