Handheld Radar SpeedGun Supports Both Manual and Automatic Sampling Modes
Article source:Weather station time:2026-04-30 09:49:21 viewed:302times
Handheld Radar SpeedGun determines vehicle speed via the Doppler effect; it features functions for setting overspeed thresholds, displaying overspeed ratios, and exporting historical data, while offering both manual and automatic sampling modes.
Handheld Radar SpeedGun is a speed monitoring device designed based on the Doppler effect, widely utilized in scenarios such as road traffic safety management and speed control within industrial facilities. The device transmits radio waves at a 24GHz operating frequency toward the traffic lane. When these electromagnetic waves encounter a moving vehicle, a portion of the signal is reflected back to the radar antenna; the system then calculates the vehicle's real-time speed based on the frequency shift between the transmitted and reflected signals. This measurement process involves no direct physical contact with the target vehicle—eliminating the need to install sensors on the vehicle itself—thereby ensuring the objectivity of the data.
In terms of operation, Handheld Radar SpeedGun features an overspeed threshold setting function, allowing users to pre-configure alarm limits in accordance with road speed limits or facility safety standards. The device offers two operational modes—automatic sampling and manual sampling—providing flexibility to suit various application scenarios. In automatic sampling mode, the device continuously monitors the speeds of passing vehicles, automatically recording data whenever a speed exceeding the preset threshold is detected; manual sampling mode is suitable for situations requiring targeted measurements or handheld operation. The device displays the vehicle's current speed in real-time and automatically calculates the "overspeed ratio," derived from the formula: (Real-time Speed – Speed Limit) ÷ Speed Limit. During the measurement process, the device also records the maximum speed attained by the target vehicle, helping users assess the severity of any speeding violations. The device can store the three most recent overspeed records—including the exact time of the incident and the recorded speed value—facilitating quick on-site reference.
Regarding data management, Handheld Radar SpeedGun supports the querying and exporting of historical data. All overspeed records, timestamps, and other data generated during measurements are stored internally within the device; users can retrieve and filter this information via the device's interface, which also supports data export functionality. The device's user interface supports language switching between Chinese and English, catering to the operational needs of a diverse range of users. The Handheld Radar SpeedGun offers a high degree of flexibility in its deployment methods: it can be mounted on law enforcement vehicles for dynamic speed monitoring, secured to a tripod at the roadside for stationary measurement, or—depending on operational requirements—upgraded to function as a fixed-point speed enforcement device. Featuring a compact structural design and lightweight construction, the unit can be easily transported and set up by a single individual. Its ABS resin housing provides robust protection, while the built-in lithium battery supports continuous operation for several hours, making it ideally suited for extended outdoor deployment.
