Vehicle-Mount Weather Stations: Mobile Meteorological Monitoring for Dynamic Environments

Article source:Weather station   time:2025-09-29 09:51:07    viewed:170times

Traditional meteorological monitoring primarily relies on fixed-location weather stations. While these stations can provide long-term, continuous climate data, their spatial distribution is static and sparse, resulting in significant monitoring blind spots. With the development of modern society, we have placed higher demands on the precision and timeliness of meteorological information. For instance, we need to know if specific sections of a highway will experience localized fog patches, the wind direction and speed around a stadium hosting a large event, or how meteorological conditions at the scene of a sudden disaster (such as chemical plant explosions, forest fires) change rapidly. This highly localized and dynamically changing meteorological information is difficult for traditional fixed stations to provide.

To address this gap, we have designed the Vehicle-Mount Weather Station. It can simultaneously and in real-time measure various meteorological elements while the vehicle is in motion, including but not limited to temperature, humidity, atmospheric pressure, wind speed, wind direction, and rainfall.

In emergency scenarios, deployment and operation can be completed within 1 to 2 minutes, quickly providing command centers with first-hand on-site meteorological intelligence.

In emergency meteorological services, rescue vehicles can carry it into the disaster core area, transmitting real-time on-site wind direction and speed. This provides crucial data for predicting the spread path of hazardous chemicals or fire direction. In the field of transportation meteorology, when installed on highway patrol vehicles, it can proactively detect and locate localized fog patches or high-risk sections of bridge icing caused by terrain, enabling precise early warning.
