Adverse weather conditions, such as water on the road, heavy snow, rain, fog, cloudy fog, sandstorms, heavy rain, snowstorms and smoggy pollution, can significantly reduce atmospheric visibility and pose a serious threat to traffic safety. These weather conditions not only make driving more difficult, but may also cause vehicles to skid or have their visibility obstructed, which may lead to traffic accidents.
According to research data, dense fog and icy road surfaces are one of the main causes of highway traffic accidents, accounting for about a quarter of all accidents. Driving at night, due to lower visibility, the accident rate is twice as high or even higher than during the day. In bad weather, the accident rate on highways can soar to ten times the normal rate.
The Visibility detector is an instrument designed to measure atmospheric visibility, which plays a key role in environmental protection and traffic safety. This observation system collects data in real time from its front-end weather monitoring module when low visibility weather conditions are encountered, analyzes it, and issues alerts when necessary.
Once reduced visibility is detected, the system will automatically upload the alert information to the command center. Duty officers can receive these alerts via the central platform or mobile devices and take prompt action upon confirmation of the situation, such as issuing speed limit orders to reduce the risk of traffic accidents.
When the weather conditions return to normal, the system is able to automatically recognize and adjust back to the original speed limit of the road automatically to ensure smooth and safe traffic.Visibility detector consists of three main parts: front-end monitoring device, data transmission module and remote control center, which work together to form an efficient visibility monitoring and response mechanism.
